Wamberal SLSC is committed to the safety, welfare, and inclusion of all members. We follow the SLSA Member Protection and Child Safe Policies to ensure a positive environment where everyone is treated with respect and dignity. Our club is open to all and dedicated to preventing discrimination, harassment, and abuse through the Member Protection Code of Conduct.

Lodging a Complaint

If you have a concern, your first point of contact is the club’s Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO). After speaking with the MPIO, formal complaints can be lodged online at:

A trained Complaints Manager will follow up. If you’re concerned about any potential conflict of interest, please mention it when contacting the club.

Child Safe Training & Resources

All members have access to training, webinars, and resources on engaging safely with children and young people.
We encourage all members to complete the Child Safe Awareness course via the SLSA Members Area.

Child Safe Reporting

Creating a safe environment for children is everyone’s responsibility. If you see or hear anything of concern, please report it.
You can submit a report anonymously via the SLSA online portal:
Select “Make a Child Safe Report” and follow the prompts. Reports go directly to SLSA Legal Counsel and Surf Life Saving NSW.

All reports are treated confidentially and with care.

Our Member Protection Team

Our club has dedicated roles to support member welfare:

  • MPIO – First contact for any concerns or advice
  • Complaints Manager – Handles formal complaints submitted via the portal
  • Child Safe Coordinator – Supports club leadership to maintain a child safe environment

To contact our MPIO, please email: adminexec@wamberalslsc.au

Child Safety at Wamberal SLSC

We are committed to protecting children and young people involved in surf lifesaving. All members must follow the Child Safe Code of Conduct, and act in line with Child Protection Laws and SLSA policy.

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

All members working directly with those under 18 must hold a valid WWCC, unless exempt.
WWCC details must be provided to the club for verification. Failure to do so may result in suspension from child-related roles.
