Become a Lifesaver. Every Australian can help save a life.
A surf lifesaver is a trained volunteer dedicated to patrolling beaches. Their roles include providing safety information to the public, administering first aid and emergency care, and performing aquatic rescues.
What’s Involved?
We're thrilled that you’re interested in joining the surf lifesaving movement and making a difference. To become a Surf Lifesaver, you will need to:
- Join Your Local Club: Connect with us at Wamberal Surf Life Saving Club and become part of our community.
- Obtain Your Bronze Medallion: This essential qualification involves extensive training provided by experienced club members.
Once you meet the training requirements, you'll patrol the beaches on weekends and public holidays during the surf lifesaving season. Your duties will include performing aquatic rescues, providing first aid and emergency care, and educating the public about surf safety.
Bronze Medallion holders also become eligible to compete in surf sports events upon fulfilling patrol requirements.
