A surf lifesaver is a trained volunteer dedicated to patrolling beaches. Their roles include providing safety information to the public, administering first aid and emergency care, and performing aquatic rescues.

Once you meet the training requirements, you'll patrol the beaches on weekends and public holidays during the surf lifesaving season. Your duties will include performing aquatic rescues, providing first aid and emergency care, and educating the public about surf safety.
Bronze Medallion holders also become eligible to compete in surf sports events upon fulfilling patrol requirements.
